Jesus said that the greatest love is shown when a person is willing to lay down his life for a friend.\u00a0 I\u2019ve heard so many true stories of people who gave their life to save somebody else or to save a group of people, and they\u2019re always amazing.\u00a0 I\u2019ve often wondered how I would react in a similar situation.\u00a0 If it was my family, like my wife or child, I\u2019m sure there would be no hesitation to make that sacrifice for them.\u00a0 But what about for a close friend, or an acquaintance, or a stranger, or even an enemy?\u00a0 Yet that\u2019s what Jesus did for us. \u00a0\u00a0While we were still his enemies, Christ died to save us.\u00a0 That is truly amazing, and it does demonstrate an amazing love.<\/p>\n
So if the greatest love is shown by sacrificing your own life to save somebody else\u2019s, then wouldn\u2019t the greatest hate be to sacrifice somebody else\u2019s life for the convenience of your own?\u00a0 Have you ever thought about that–how unkind and uncaring and intensely selfish it would be to take someone else\u2019s life simply to improve your comfort?\u00a0 Can you imagine anyone being so calloused?\u00a0 But it happens all the time.<\/p>\n
