{"id":1657,"date":"2012-12-04T01:23:20","date_gmt":"2012-12-04T07:23:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pastorfrog.com\/?p=1657"},"modified":"2012-12-02T01:44:48","modified_gmt":"2012-12-02T07:44:48","slug":"the-gift-of-the-spirit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pastorfrog.com\/?p=1657","title":{"rendered":"The Gift of The Spirit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ephesians 4:1-13<\/strong> <em>Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. <sup>2<\/sup>Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other\u2019s faults because of your love. <sup>3<\/sup>Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. <sup>4<\/sup>For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. <sup>5<\/sup>There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, <sup>6<\/sup>and one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><sup>7<\/sup><\/em><em>However, he has given each one of us a special gift through the generosity of Christ. <sup>8<\/sup>That is why the Scriptures say, \u201cWhen he ascended to the heights,\u00a0he led a crowd of captives\u00a0and gave gifts to his people.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><sup>9<\/sup><\/em><em>Notice that it says \u201che ascended.\u201d This clearly means that Christ also descended to our lowly world. <sup>10<\/sup>And the same one who descended is the one who ascended higher than all the heavens, so that he might fill the entire universe with himself.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><sup>11<\/sup>Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. <sup>12<\/sup>Their responsibility is to equip God\u2019s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. <sup>13<\/sup>This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God\u2019s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"powerpress_links powerpress_links_mp3\" style=\"margin-bottom: 1px !important;\">Podcast: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pastorfrog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/120108-TheGiftoftheSpirit.mp3\" class=\"powerpress_link_pinw\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Play in new window\" onclick=\"return powerpress_pinw('https:\/\/www.pastorfrog.com\/?powerpress_pinw=1657-podcast');\" rel=\"nofollow\">Play in new window<\/a> | <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pastorfrog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/120108-TheGiftoftheSpirit.mp3\" class=\"powerpress_link_d\" title=\"Download\" rel=\"nofollow\" download=\"120108-TheGiftoftheSpirit.mp3\">Download<\/a> (Duration: 38:05 &#8212; 17.4MB)<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ephesians 4:1-13 Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. 2Always be humble and gentle.
